Our very own Joanne Morse, Vice President of Eventing on our Board of Directors, was quoted in a recent article written by Leslie Threlkeld for US Eventing.

Joanne Morse, V.P. of Eventing at the Georgia Dressage and Combined Training Association (GDCTA) believes the quality of competition between recognized and schooling is comparable.

“We’re seeing a lot more of the higher quality judges,” Morse said. “It did used to be the ‘schooling show the judge will be kind.’ We’re not seeing the sugar coating anymore. Maybe for the amoeba riders, but at the same time, they’re giving them good feedback and still a very positive experience.”

The Region 3 Championships are in Ocala this year (and in Conyers, next!) so if you are planning to go and need your scores, get your entries in for the LDC show! It's going to be a great show - this year and next - even with masks and social distancing this year. We'll see what next year has in store for us closer to that date. Congratulations to our competitors who have been following the USEF COVID requirements so we have been able to continue having shows.

We are still in need of a few volunteers for this show, particularly set up on Thursday, August 20. Contact me if you can help!

    Thank you!

PS GDCTA is still looking for a Volunteer Coordinator specifically for our shows. One of the best ways to feel good is by doing good. Give back to our horsey community and join us!
