GDCTA is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 2010 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Region 3 Dressage Championships on October 15-17,  2010 at the Horse Park.

This event is always exciting, but it is a huge undertaking. We hope all of our members will participate in some way. We want to see you in the rings as much as we could use your help as volunteers!

Since this show runs concurrently with the Atlanta National Fall Dressage show over 3 days with up to 8 rings, we’ll need approximately 100 volunteers, plus ring set-up and tear-down crews before and after the show.

There’s also always the need for class and corporate sponsors (contact June Brewer gdctaenews@aol.com), vendors for the Vendor Village and advertising in the program. Please help support your show!

From the Judge's Perspective

We've changed the format slightly to make the clinics more effective and due to receiving a grant from the Dressage Foundation we  have been able to reduce the price.

A series of clinics presented by GDCTA

To be held at Shannondale Farm in Alpharetta, Ga

Get to know your new dressage tests.

This is an excellent way to become familiar with the dressage tests that will be new for 2011.

Saturday and Sunday will consist of 50 minute Ride-a-Test of choice sessions where the Judge will score your test and coach you on how to improve certain movements or overall quality to improve test scores. Saturday night there will be a lecture/Q&A session where the Judge will discuss warm-up techniques and arena etiquette as well as answer specific questions about the day's rides.

Open to all levels of horses and riders.

2010 GDCTA Kudzu Klinic Series Off and Running

March 20 marked the beginning of the 2010 Kudzu Klinic series sponsored by GDCTA. The Kudzu Klinics are presented each year as a service to the members of GDCTA. Local clinicians volunteer their services as do local barns to give low-cost instructional opportunities to those new to the community, looking for an instructor, or maybe new to one of the disciplines supported by GDCTA and looking for an opportunity to “try it out.” The goal established by the GDCTA Board is to support four Kudzu Klinics in each year.
